Backlink Form Filler

Privacy Policy

This policy describes how we handle information when you use our companion website and the Backlink Form Filler browser extension. Last updated: .

Who we are

The website and APIs are operated at https://grey-cormorant-148451.hostingersite.com (the “Service”). The Chrome extension connects to this Service for account login and related features.

What we collect (website / account)

What the extension stores on your device

The extension uses Chrome’s local storage on your device to save items such as: your login session (token and account email), extension settings (including “Your Email” and website URL for form filling), per-site generated profiles, and UI preferences. This data stays on your device unless you sign in (then the token is sent to our servers as described below).

How we use your information

AI features (comments & security-question help)

If you use optional AI features, the extension sends prompts (which may include text from the current page or form labels you are trying to fill) to our server endpoint (/api/ai_chat.php). Our server may call an AI provider (e.g. Groq) using server-side credentials. Your Groq or other provider API keys are not embedded in the public extension package.

Where data is processed

Account and API traffic are processed on servers hosting the Service. AI requests are proxied through those servers. We use reasonable measures to protect data in transit (HTTPS).

Cookies and similar technologies

The companion website may use standard session or security mechanisms required for hosting and HTTPS. The extension itself does not rely on third-party advertising cookies for its core behavior.

Third parties

Permissions (Chrome extension)

The extension requests permissions needed for its stated purpose only, including: storage (save settings and profiles), active tab / scripting (apply fills on the page you are using), clipboard (when you explicitly copy text such as queries or a generated comment), and context menu (optional fill from right-click). Broad page access exists so form assistance can run on sites you visit; it is not used to build a browsing history product or to sell browsing data.

Retention and your choices

Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

International users

Your information may be processed in the country where the Service is hosted. By using the Service, you understand your data may be transferred and processed there.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the Service or extension after changes means you accept the updated policy.
